What we carry
This page lists our transport permit, our insurance and how we handle the paperwork for moves to and from the United States. Each item names the organization behind it, so you can check it yourself rather than take our word for it.
How to verify us
- Quebec transport permit — ask us for the number and look it up in the public register of the Commission des transports du Québec.
- Insurance — we send a certificate of insurance naming you, your building or your landlord on request, before the move.
- Canada–USA moves — we prepare the inventory and the customs forms with you: CBP Form 3299 for moves into the United States, BSF186 and the list of goods to follow for moves into Canada.
Certificates for your building
Condo buildings, office towers and many landlords require a certificate of insurance naming the syndicate, the management company or the landlord as additional insured before a moving crew may use the elevator. Send us the property manager’s contact and the exact wording they need. We send the certificate directly to them, days before the move, so the concierge is never the reason a move is delayed.
If something is damaged
Tell the crew chief on the day, or tell us within the period set out in our claims policy. We document the damage with photos, and repair or replacement is settled under our cargo insurance. For high-value items, give us a list with declared values before the move so the coverage matches what is on the truck.
Questions to ask any moving company
Whoever you hire, ask for their transport permit number and a certificate of insurance, ask who owns the truck and employs the crew, and ask for the price in writing with everything that is not included. A company that answers these questions easily usually answers the phone easily after the move too.
